The Event module allows for the evaluation of events (accidents, near misses, and unsafe situations) and the definition of corrective or improvement measures.

An Event is the observation of a situation or behavior that demonstrates a deviation from the proper management of personal health and safety, plant safety, or compliance with environmental requirements. It can be an injury or an accident.

Events also include situations that could potentially have caused much more harm than was actually observed. A near miss is an event without significant harm, but which demonstrated that barriers and safeguards were not present or were not effective.

Some organizations may also include the observation of unsafe situations, without a specific occurrence, that could potentially lead to injuries or accidents, as an event.
